'New' Hat for the Raspberry Pi?

The new hat from IQaudio, according to How-To Geek's Raspberry Pi has New Hi-Fi Audio Boards For Your DIY Project, " ..allowed Pi devices to output powerful and higher-quality audio.."

I love hats! And I love everything about the Raspberry Pi – the form factor, the way you set it up, the different projects you can do with it, especially the support you get from the community. That is why I am excited to try out this new hat as I have been using Hifi audio boards on RPIs to stream my audio library for years without any glitch.

I have one system that has the Hifiberry DAC+ with a raspberry pi 3 B+ running Volumio, and another system that has the HiFi DAC Hat from Innomaker, also on a pi 3 B+ and Volumio. They are both running great and I am very satisfied with them. From the DACs I run my audio signal via RCA to a preamp and ultimately to my amps and of course speakers. I will leave details out for now as I tend to experiment a lot when it comes to these components.

My question is: What is all the fuss about? Do we get better overall sound quality or is it just a layout change? Do I now have to change my DAC? Maybe. But I would definitely want to try it out in future projects.
